In 1999 Judy and I purchased the Feldman Properties: Feldman's Department Store and the Feldman home.

In 2004 Judy was able to get the Feldman building entered into the Alabama Historical Registry.

In 2006 she was able the get the Feldman house entered into the Alabama Historical Registry.

Today, 2009, Judy received this official notification that, thanks to her efforts, the Feldman building has been officially entered into the National Historical Registry:

We are told that the Feldman Properties are the only privately owned properties in Winston County to be so designated. I am very proud of Judy's efforts to bring such historic recognition to Haleyville.

Next month, the tenth anniversary of our purchase of the properties, we plan to hold a community celebration. When the exact time and date is determined, we will let everyone know.
